As development programmes are the ultimate source of knowledge on development they should publish their experience. Here one finds a number of such publications, together with reports of studies done for development programmes.
ALBANIA
- The Albanian AKIS in transition (2002)
This paper, co-authored with Irfan Tarelli (head extension), explores the institutional development and organisational changes in the Albanian AKIS during the 1990’s. - Networking for innovation. The case of ANSP (2001)
How a network of farmers, traders and researchers, working together trough on-farm-trials, lead to a sustainable potato seed supply system which again lead to substantially higher potato yields. - Producers Organisations in Albania (1999)
This paper summarises the (limited) success of development project in the 1990’s to organise Albanian farmers in marketing groups and Water Use Associations. - On farm trials with potatoes in NE Albania (1995) .
These trials proved the economic viability of high quality seed potatoes; the results were the foundation for ANSPA (see above). - The role of FAP in the development of the Albanian AKIS (2000)
This paper documents the continuity and change in the Albanian AKIS in the 1990’s and the role of the Fier Agricultural Programme in this. - Sub sector analysis of fruit and vegetables in Albania (2007)�

AFGHANISTAN
- Apricot in Afghanistan. A value chain approach (2008)
The information that participants of an on-the-job training in Value Chain Analysis collected in eight areas troughout Afghanistan formed the basis of first publication of NUHDA. - Fruit and nut trade in Central and Nothern Afghanistan (2009)
Report on a market survey among 147 fruit and nut traders on eleven local and regional markets. One striking finding was that traders who added more value to the produce (e.g. by grading or storing) did not get better margins; they only increased their market share. - Livestock strategy for Uruzgan (2009)
This strategy for Cordaid was designed after three missions to Uruzgan, South Afghanistan. The planned interventions are setting up feed banks, distribution milking goats and poultry.

KOSOVO

UGANDA
- The Farming System of the Lango, North Uganda (1985)
An analysis of the farming system, based on the active participation in the community of Aboke village (a.o. having my own garden and field crops) and on a Farm Management Survey among 75 farmers.
